matsup used to be matthias spillmann's septet, with which we recorded three cds- the last one was about modest mousorgsky's pictures of an exhibition (unit records). now matthias has changed the direction radically and for the new lineup (mats tp&flh, reto suhner as/fl, marc mean p, raffaele bossard b, he writes sometimes african inspired, very open groovemusic, he calls it "metaphysic dance music". our record "5" came out in october 09 on unit records, in 2012 we will record a new program including vocals on poems by SAID

reto suhner 4tet

for years, one of my favorite sax-players lead an amazing quartet. he reformed the whole band, and i'm very happy to be in the new group, and to contribute his adventurous music in the often instant-composed moments. reto suhner (as/ss comp), philip henzi (p), silvan jaeger (b)
